This subcamp is named after Sarah McNair-Landry. Born in the late 1980s, she grew up on Baffin Island with arctic guides for parents, she therefore learned about the arctic from a young age.

When Sarah was just 17 years old, she embarked on a month-long, 2,400km expedition across the Greenland ice sheet. Since then, she has crossed Greenland ice six times. However, it was her expeditions across the Arctic Ocean and Antarctica that earned her recognition as the youngest person ever to travel to both poles.

In 2016, she undertook a ski and kayak mission across Greenland. Using kite skis to make it across 1,000 km of ice whist towing white-water kayaks. This amazing achievement is depicted in the film, Into Twin Galaxies.
